On guesswork

Shorter Bob Rae:
Some people actually believe voters deserve a meaningful idea what political parties plan to do before choosing between them? That's crazy talk.

An even shorter Bob Rae: Vote for the party that best represents your interests - we'll talk later.

    1. Of course, figuring out which party "best represents your interests" involves knowing what type of representation the party plans to offer. So again, the position is that people shouldn't know what may be most important to their voting choices.

As the writ gets closer, the parties should present the policies from which the voters can determine what are their interests and visions. Probably around Labour day.

P.S. And what kind of new captcha hell is this?

    3. I'd very much hope nobody running in this fall's election is still a blank slate when it comes to "interests and visions" - no matter how much Trudeau tries to pretend to be. And I'd think it's a serious sign of weakness in our democracy that anybody believes they're best off trying to hide their policies or values in order to avoid public debate.

(And I'm not sure what's happening with the captcha - how is it different from usual?)

The 'don't be evil' brainiacs at the Google chocolate factory have decided that one must identify sushi and bread in graphics before one can submit a comment to a Google blogspot site. Strange.
