Soon, foreign countries that aren't quite sure what position to take for particular situations in the UN will have a new option. If they want to take the position that's best for their citizens, all they have to do is look at what Canada is saying, and do the opposite.
Two days ago the Harper gov released its "Summary on Consultations on Perimeter Security and Economic Competitiveness", a summary of input from citizens leaving comments on their webpage, businesses, think tanks, First Nations groups, provincial & federal orgs, CCCE, etc.
The preamble notes that "the government identified a wide range of interested stakeholders to whom it reached out directly for one-on-one meetings."
Under "Annex B: List of Groups, Organizations, and Other Levels of Government Consulted", only ten "Industry - Firms" are listed, Imperial Tobacco Canada among them.
