As one more follow-up point on
last night's post, it's worth noting that the Cons' public position before they precipitated the 2008 election runs thoroughly contradicts their current spin that they'll never accept a "deal" with another party (particularly the Bloc) in order to stay in power. In reality, the Cons didn't just
pursue such a deal with all parties including the Bloc, but they made a show of
demanding one - with the only difference being that the other party involved was expected to receive nothing in return besides the privilege of propping up Harper.
