Mind you, Noorzai has brought up a few inconvenient truths about how his group is woefully lacking in staff and resources to actually monitor any significant part of southern Afghanistan:
Mr. Noorzai has said that monitoring detainees will prove difficult, because he has only eight staff members to conduct prison inspections across all of southern Afghanistan, and some regions are considered too dangerous to visit. But based on O'Connor's judgment, those concerns were apparently discarded in favour of the eye test.
Which should put an end to the matter. After all, what reason would we have to think that O'Connor's word can't be trusted?
